There is expected to be a big turnout of golfers for the 10th annual Bendigo Bank Ambrose golf day in York in July.

The event is on July 13 and should be played in ideal surroundings if there is a good follow up to last week's rain. York Golf Club which hosts the event, expects good support from men, ladies, juniors along with a number of players from surrounding clubs. Players will be divided into two divisions for the competition.

As in previous years, the day will feature trophies, novelty prizes and a raffle sponsored by York and Districts Community Bank . These include $300.00 towards major trophies and  $1,000.00 for raffle prizes. First prize in the raffle is $700.00 second is $200.00 and $100.00 for third using the last person out raffle format. There are a further six small prizes for the first six people knocked out of the raffle.

A spokesperson for the Golf Club paid tribute to the ongoing support the club had received for the competition from the York Community Bank. He also thanked the board and branch staff for promoting the event.
