SWIMMING CLUB CARRIES
ON RAIN HAIL OR SHINE

Despite unseasonal cold wet weather in mid December, swimmers from York and Beverley Swimming Clubs have continued to train during the holidays.

Club coach, Tricia Byfield, said that with only a week off over Christmas, swimmers were working on specific stroke development in an effort to improve their times when club points nights resume on January 25.

Friday December 14 was the last club night for 2007 with a large number of swimmers competing for the Christmas handicap trophy. This was followed by a sausage sizzle.

“It was fantastic to have so many parents and siblings enjoying the atmosphere, helping with time keeping and using their excellent barbecue skills to feed the hungry
swimmers,” Tricia said.

“It is exciting to see an increase in the number of swimmers this season and to have the Beverley Club train with us and compete on club nights,” she said.
